Smart Vehicle Impounding in Abu Dhabi for AED 15 per day lets owners keep impounded vehicles at a chosen location, request via TAMM or service centers, and uses a smart device to monitor movement and send alerts

Customers can request Smart Vehicle Impounding service to keep an impounded vehicle in the custody of its owner, at a location specified by the owner, for their convenience and comfort, the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters has informed.

It stated that the service fee for Smart Vehicle Impounding is AED 15 per day, and customers can easily submit requests through the Abu Dhabi Unified Government Services System (TAMM) or by visiting service centers.

The service depends on installing a smart electronic device inside the vehicle to ensure that it does not move from the specified location. The device sends instant alert signals to the control room to document the situation if any of the requirements are violated.

For availing the Smart Vehicle Impounding service, Abu Dhabi Police stipulates that the customer’s vehicle must have committed a traffic violation that requires impoundment. The concerned person, or an authorized representative under an official power of attorney, must be present in person, sign a form acknowledging and undertaking the service requirements, and present an Emirates ID.

The service covers all types of light and heavy vehicles, trucks, and buses, and applies to most traffic violations. It allows drivers to identify the vehicle and its associated violations and pay the service fee, after which the vehicle can be transferred to the customer service center to complete the necessary procedures. The smart reservation device is then installed in the vehicle by a service employee.
