UAE weather forecast: Dubai to reach 43°C as summer rain, hail, dust and fog conditions return

Dubai: Be cautious of blowing dust in the daytime across the UAE today, and fog and mist formation overnight. And if you’re located in eastern regions of the country, you might be able to enjoy summer rain.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasts fair to partly cloudy weather, with a chance of some convective cloud formation eastward and southward by afternoon, associated with rainfall. The rain may turn to hail in the coming days, particularly on Wednesday, in some internal areas.

High temperatures across the UAE

Temperatures are holding steady in the mid-40s across most major cities in the UAE.

Coastal and island regions are set to experience highs between 38°C and 43°C, while internal regions will be warmer, at 44°C to 49°C.

Abu Dhabi will see a peak of 45°C, while Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah will see highs of at 44°C. Dubai and Fujairah will see a maximum temperature of 43°C, while Al Ain remains the hottest part of the country today, at 46°C.

Relative humidity (RH) is set to increase to a maximum of 70% to 90% in coastal and island areas, and between 65% to 85% in internal areas. The NCM expects the probability of mist formation over some western regions overnight and early on Wednesday morning. Be cautious when you’re outdoors during this time, or when driving, as visibility may drop sharply.

Blowing dust and calm seas

The NCM forecasts light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly winds, which will turn from fresh to strong at times. With wind speeds reaching 45km/h in internal areas, you can expect gusts to kick up dust in open or desert areas, causing blowing dust. The authorities advise limiting exposure in such conditions and taking the necessary precautions, such as keeping doors and windows closed.

Sea conditions, on the other hand, will remain slight today in both the Sea of Oman and the Arabian Gulf, according to the NCM. If you’re heading to the beach, enjoy gentle waves reaching heights of two feet on-shore and three feet off-shore.
