Temperatures remain in the mid-40s across much of the UAE, while Fujairah and Khor Fakkan could see rainfall as convective clouds develop.

Dubai: Humidity and temperatures remain high today, across the UAE, as the mercury holds steady in the mid-40s.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasts fair to partly cloudy weather, with a probability of some convective cloud formation eastward by afternoon, causing rainfall in regions like Fujairah and Khor Fakkan.

    Humidity and fog

The Met office expects relative humidity (RH) – the amount of water vapour currently in the air compared to the maximum amount the air can hold – to rise by night and early tomorrow morning, increasing to a peak of 75% in Abu Dhabi and 60% in Dubai.

Meanwhile, temperatures remain in the mid-40s today, across most major cities in the UAE.

Coastal and island regions are set to experience highs between 39°C and 45°C, while internal regions will be warmer, at 45°C to 49°C.

Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah will reach 45°C today, while Dubai and Sharjah will see a peak of 44°C. Ajman will experience 41°C weather, while Umm Al Quwain will reach 40°C. Fujairah will remain relatively cooler, at 36°C.

    Tranquil seas

According to the NCM, light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly winds, freshening at times, will average speeds of 10 to 25km/h and increase to 35km/h along the coast.

You can expect slight sea conditions in both the Sea of Oman and the Arabian Gulf today, and enjoy gentle waves reaching heights of two feet on-shore and three feet off-shore.

    Weekend outlook

Saturday and Sunday will see much of the same, with high temperatures, light winds, partially cloudy skies, and a chance of rain in the eastern regions of the country. The sea will remain calm over the weekend, according to the NCM, making the country’s beaches the perfect spot to cool off in the evenings.

Here is the complete breakdown of minimum and maximum temperatures across the Emirates today:

Maximum Temp (°C) Minimum Temp (°C)

    Dubai 44°C 34°C

    Abu Dhabi 45°C 33°C

    Al Ain 45°C 33°C

    Sharjah 44°C 29°C

    Ajman 41°C 32°C

    Fujairah 36°C 30°C

    Ras Al Khaimah 45°C 29°C
