Dubai gains were led by Shuaa Capital and Al Firdous Holding, while Abu Dhabi stocks delivered mixed performance despite gains in Aldar and ADNOC Gas.

Dubai: Dubai and Abu Dhabi stock markets delivered mixed performances at the start of trading on Monday, the first session of the week.

The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) index rose 0.12 per cent, moving above 5,890 points, while the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) index declined 0.27 per cent.

On the DFM, Shuaa Capital advanced 7.4 per cent, Al Firdous Holding gained 5.2 per cent, Aman Holding rose 3.1 per cent, and Salama Holding added 2.9 per cent.

On the ADX, Aldar Properties increased 0.78 per cent, ADNOC Gas climbed 0.62 per cent, Alpha Dhabi Holding gained 0.54 per cent, and Borouge rose 0.43 per cent.

The mixed performance comes amid improving investor sentiment, supported by strong first-half results from listed companies and banks, the continued resilience of the UAE economy, and positive expectations for growth in key sectors, including real estate, banking and energy.

The market is also benefiting from increased liquidity and the return of foreign and institutional investors seeking to expand their positions, supported by optimism over continued economic activity and stable monetary policies.

Investors are awaiting further catalysts in the coming period that could influence market direction and trading activity.
