Waqf Tadawi will help cover treatment costs for low-income patients through a sustainable healthcare endowment developed in partnership with Al Tadawi Healthcare Group
Dubai: The Endowment and Minors’ Trust Foundation in Dubai (Awqaf Dubai) has inaugurated Waqf Tadawi, a new healthcare endowment valued at Dh6.5 million in Al Satwa, aimed at supporting the treatment of patients in need.
The inauguration was attended by Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chief of Police and Public Security in Dubai; Lieutenant General Awad Hader Al Muhairi, Vice President of Dubai State Security Department; Essa Abdulla Al Ghurair, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Awqaf Dubai; Ali Mohammed Al Mutawa, Secretary-General of Awqaf Dubai; and Marwan Ibrahim Haji Nasser, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Al Tadawi Healthcare Group, along with representatives of supporting entities and organisations.
Waqf Tadawi aims to provide sustainable support for humanitarian medical cases at Al Tadawi Healthcare Group facilities by helping cover treatment costs for patients in need and those with limited incomes, regardless of nationality.
Developed through a partnership between Awqaf Dubai and Al Tadawi Healthcare Group, the project seeks to strengthen the role of endowments in healthcare by creating a sustainable source of income whose proceeds will support the treatment of patients in need while reinforcing social solidarity and community partnership.
The endowment comprises a building on a 2,515-square-foot plot featuring three residential floors, retail outlets and service facilities. Developed at a cost of approximately Dh6.5 million, the property will generate returns to help finance medical treatment for eligible beneficiaries.
The project was completed with contributions from Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Tarahum Charity Foundation, Dar Al Ber Society and several philanthropists, reflecting collective community efforts to support sustainable humanitarian initiatives in Dubai.
Dhahi Khalfan said supporting healthcare endowments represents a sustainable investment in people and noted that Waqf Tadawi embodies the values of solidarity and compassion that characterise Emirati society.
He said the project transforms giving into a sustainable resource whose impact continues through supporting patients in need and highlighted the importance of partnerships between endowment institutions, charitable organisations and the healthcare sector.
Essa Al Ghurair said the inauguration of Waqf Tadawi reflects Dubai’s approach to developing sustainable endowment initiatives that serve the community and support those most in need.
He described the project as a sustainable investment in humanitarian work, with its returns helping patients who are unable to meet treatment costs and easing their financial burden while preserving their dignity.
Al Ghurair added that the initiative demonstrates the importance of cooperation between endowment institutions, healthcare providers, charitable organisations and philanthropists, noting that such partnerships transform donations and contributions into long-term endowment assets that continue to benefit future generations.
He said Awqaf Dubai remains committed to developing endowments with positive community impact, particularly in vital sectors such as healthcare, in line with Dubai’s vision of strengthening charitable and humanitarian work and promoting the culture of endowment as a tool for sustainable development.
Ali Al Mutawa said Waqf Tadawi represents a significant addition to Dubai’s healthcare endowment initiatives and reflects community partnership in charitable work by directing endowment proceeds towards patients unable to afford treatment.
He noted that the collaboration with Al Tadawi Healthcare Group enhances the endowment’s ability to reach beneficiaries and provide specialised treatment in accordance with the highest medical standards.
Marwan Ibrahim Haji Nasser said the endowment reflects Al Tadawi Healthcare Group’s commitment to its social and humanitarian responsibilities, adding that the project’s returns will provide ongoing support for humanitarian medical cases and help cover treatment and healthcare costs for patients in need.
He said the initiative highlights the importance of partnerships between the healthcare sector and endowment and charitable organisations in developing sustainable projects with long-term community benefits, reaffirming the group’s commitment to supporting beneficiaries through its medical expertise and healthcare services.
