Sharjah: The Sharjah Government Media Office announced the temporary closure of Al Hamriya Beach as a precautionary measure to prevent marine pollution from an oil spill from a tanker.

In a statement posted on its X platform, the office said that specialised teams and relevant authorities in the emirate have taken the necessary steps to ensure the safety of the beaches and prevent the pollution from reaching them.

The specialised teams called on fishermen and sea users to adhere to the instructions issued in order to preserve public safety, while stressing the need for the public to obtain information from official channels and avoid spreading rumours.
