Dubai: Temperatures across the UAE are dropping below 35°C today, with humidity also beginning its slow decline, as we head into winter months.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasts fair to partly cloudy weather today, with a chance of some convective cloud formation northward and eastward, associated with rainfall. So, if you’re in Fujairah or Kalba, watch out for scattered showers.
Low-30s temperatures
Meanwhile, temperatures are continuing to drop gradually, across the UAE.
The highest levels of relative humidity (RH) today can be expected by nighttime, and in the early morning hours tomorrow, reaching 75% in Abu Dhabi and 80% in Dubai. This means you can expect mist or fog over these cities and other coastal and internal areas.
Today, Dubai, Sharjah, and Ras Al Khaimah will reach highs of 36°C, while Abu Dhabi and Umm Al Quwain will peak at 35°C. Ajman will see 34°C temperatures, while Fujairah will remain the coolest emirate, at 33°C.
Moderate sea conditions
Light to moderate winds, averaging speeds of 10 to 25km/h, will reach up to 35km/h along coastal and island areas, and up to 45km/h in internal areas, and stir up dust. The NCM advises covering your mouth and nose in such situations, or remaining indoors with doors and windows shut to prevent dust from entering the building.
The NCM forecasts slight sea conditions in both eastern and western regions, with wave heights reaching up to two feet on-shore, and up to three feet off-shore in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
