Abu Dhabi Police have arrested 45 people of multiple nationalities for filming various locations amid current ongoing events and posting clips on social media.

The detainees were also accused of sharing inaccurate and misleading information. Authorities warned that such actions could “provoke public opinion and spread rumours.”

The authority stated that it has taken the necessary legal and administrative measures against those accused, as part of continuous efforts by security agencies to monitor violations related to the misuse of social media.

Police stressed that such behaviour violates the law, and emphasised the importance of verifying information before publishing or resharing any content not issued by official sources, warning that doing so could negatively impact community security and ongoing security operations.

Abu Dhabi Police also called on the public to obtain information only from officially approved sources and to refrain from filming or publishing locations of incidents or related footage.

The police clarified that authorities are closely monitoring content on social media platforms and will take necessary legal action against anyone who violates the law.

They added that maintaining security and stability is a shared responsibility that requires awareness and cooperation from all members of society.
