Two incidents took place at Abu Dhabi’s Habshan gas facilities and at the Bab field due to falling missile debris, the emirate’s media office confirmed early on Thursday.

Abu Dhabi authorities are currently responding to both incidents, which followed the successful interceptions of missiles, and the gas facilities have been shut down. No injuries have been reported.

Authorities in the UAE Capital have once again urged the public to seek information from official sources and to avoid spreading rumours or unverified information.

In a statement by the UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Mofa), the country strongly condemned the Iranian terrorist attack targeting the Habshan gas facility and the Bab field.

These attacks constitute a dangerous escalation and a violation of international law, Mofa added while stressing that the UAE reserves its full right to take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty and national security, and to safeguard its national interests.

The Ministry further emphasized that “this terrorist attack targeting critical infrastructure and oil facilities represents a direct threat to regional security and stability, as well as to global energy security.”
