UAE residents can expect rainfall over scattered areas of the country on Sunday (March 22), according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

Conditions will be partly cloudy to cloudy, accompanied by some convective clouds with rainfall over scattered areas, the weather department noted.

The met department had earlier announced that residents across the UAE can expect a stormy week, with rain, thunder and possible hail forecast in parts of the country.

Showers are expected to develop around the Eastern border by midday and will intensify during the evening and overnight, consolidating around Abu Dhabi city and southern Abu Dhabi by Monday morning.

Despite the rain, temperatures in Abu Dhabi will reach up to 32ºC, while Dubai can expect highs of 30ºC.

Light to moderate winds, which could get freshening at times, are expected to blow across the country. These winds will cause blowing dust and sand, reducing the horizontal visibility.

The sea will be slight to moderate, becoming rough at times with clouds in the Arabian Gulf and in Oman Sea.
