India’s top investigative agency on Saturday announced the arrest of two wanted fugitives after it secured his extradition from the UAE. One of the accused, Kamlesh Parekh is wanted for a major banking fraud case linked to Kolkata-based Shree Ganesh Jewellery House (I) Ltd. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), in an official statement, said that Kamlesh was taken into custody on May 1 after he was detained by UAE authorities. The Dubai Criminal Court has sentenced six men to seven years in jail and fined them Dh10 million for stealing cash from a bank customer, while a seventh defendant, a woman, was jailed for one month, as the gang carried out a planned Dh10-million robbery targeting bank clients. The court also ordered the deportation of all defendants after serving their sentences.
