NEW YORK, 24th February, 2026 (WAM) — Meta Platforms will buy artificial intelligence chips from Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) in a deal that will also give it the opportunity to buy up to a 10% stake of the chip company. Meta will buy AMD’s latest chips, the MI450, to help power data centres. The 6-gigawatt agreement will see shipments supporting the first gigawatt deployment set to start during the second half of this year. The agreement could potentially be worth more than $100 billion. SHARJAH, 21st March, 2026 (WAM) — Sharjah Charity International (SCI) announced that in 2025 it successfully completed a series of high-impact water projects aimed at providing safe drinking water to communities suffering from water scarcity around the world. Marking World Water Day, observed annually on March 22, the SCI revealed that it drilled 11,866 wells of various types across several drought-affected countries. Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has awarded the contract for the 1st phase of the Dubai Walk Master Plan in Al Ras, which will see the development of a 12km pedestrian walkway linking historic sites and public transport networks. A European man has been banned from carrying out money transfers for two years after a UAE court convicted him of depositing money into a bank account linked to drug dealers in order to purchase narcotics.
