Dubai: DP World has reached a significant milestone in its US$800 million investment programme to modernise Syria’s Port of Tartous, completing the delivery of three Mobile Harbour Cranes (MHCs).

According to Dubai Media Office, the new cranes are expected to increase the port’s cargo-handling capacity by approximately 40%, supporting trade activity and contributing to Syria’s economic recovery efforts.

The delivery forms part of DP World’s broader investment plan to transform the Port of Tartous, strengthen operational efficiency and enhance the country’s trade infrastructure.

The company said the addition of the three mobile harbour cranes will improve cargo operations and help the port accommodate growing trade volumes while increasing productivity and turnaround times.

The latest development underscores DP World’s continuing role in investing in logistics and transport infrastructure across key regional markets.
