Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has awarded the contract for the 1st phase of the Dubai Walk Master Plan in Al Ras, which will see the development of a 12km pedestrian walkway linking historic sites and public transport networks.
The project includes 5km of cycling tracks and will connect major heritage landmarks such as Al Fahidi Fort, Al Shindagha Historic District and Al Ahmadiya School, integrating with 11 metro, bus and marine transport stations to improve first- and last-mile connectivity.

According to RTA, the initiative is part of a broader plan to make Dubai a pedestrian-friendly city and support the emirate’s long-term urban mobility goals.
