e& UAE activates region’s first 1024QAM on live 5.5G network, hits 4.58Gbps speed

Reaching multi-gigabit speeds of 4.58 Gbps the highest 5.5G modulation is now live on e& UAE’s network

Abu Dhabi — e& UAE has reached a new milestone in next-generation mobile connectivity, activating the highest 1024QAM modulation on its live, commercial 5.5G network and reaching multi-gigabit speeds of 4.58 Gbps.

It is the first time in the region that this highest modulation scheme has been activated on a live network, made possible by e& UAE’s continued investment in one of the world’s most advanced mobile networks. The milestone was demonstrated using the newly launched on HUAWEI Pura 90s smartphone, one of the first devices to experience this next generation connectivity.

“A revolutionary network is only as powerful as the ecosystem of devices connected to it.”

“By proving this multi-gigabit capability on the latest HUAWEI Pura 90s, we are bringing the true power of 5.5G directly into our customers’ hands. This immense leap in bandwidth is the exact catalyst required to unlock the full potential of everyday AI, immersive technologies, and next-generation digital experiences on the devices we use daily,” said Dr. Tamer Eltoni, Senior Vice President –Devices & Future Growth Ventures, e& UAE.

Higher-order modulation is a way of packing more data into every transmission, and 1024QAM is the highest scheme available on 5.5G today. On a smartphone that supports it, that extra efficiency is something customers feel: a full-length HD film downloads in seconds, an entire photo library backs up in the time it takes to pour a coffee, and a large work file sends the moment it’s shared. Live sport, high-definition video calls and cloud gaming stay smooth even when the whole household is online at once.

The same capacity powers the next wave of everyday AI — instant assistants, real-time translation and smarter apps — that increasingly rely on a fast, responsive connection to work at their best. As these experiences become part of daily life, e& UAE’s network is built to carry them without buffering, lag or dropped connections.

“Activating the highest 1024QAM modulation on our live network is a first in the region, which is in line with our focus on customer experience, which matters the most.”

“Our 5.5G network, paired with the newest 1024QAM-capable smartphones, delivers multi-gigabit performance that makes ultra-high-definition content, cloud gaming and AI-powered services simply work — instantly and reliably. We are laying the foundations for smarter homes, connected businesses and digital lifestyles that will define the UAE’s future,” said AbdulRahman Al Humaidan, Senior Vice President – Access Network Development, e& UAE.

The achievement reinforces the UAE’s standing as a global leader in digital infrastructure and next-generation connectivity. By accelerating its 5.5G capabilities, e& UAE is supporting the nation’s ambition to build one of the world’s most advanced digital economies — and to give consumers and businesses faster, smoother and more resilient everyday experiences.

As 5.5G continues to evolve, e& UAE will keep expanding the reach and intelligence of its network, ensuring customers and businesses have the multi-gigabit bandwidth to power the next generation of digital living.
