    Abu Dhabi Police has issued a warning about the dangers of using fireworks during Eid Al Fitr celebrations.

    The UAE is celebrating Eid Al Fitr on Friday, March 20, after authorities confirmed that the crescent marking the start of Shawwal was not sighted on Thursday.

    The General Command of Abu Dhabi Police highlighted that they are hazardous materials capable of causing serious injuries and accidents that threaten both personal safety and property.

    The police urged the community, particularly children, to avoid handling fireworks.

    They also warned that fireworks carry risks of burns and eye injuries. Fires may also occur if they are misused or handled negligently.

    Therefore, Abu Dhabi Police stressed the importance of adhering to laws and safety instructions to ensure public security and protection for all residents.

    Authorities emphasised that safety is a shared responsibility and that community awareness and responsible behaviour play a key role in reducing accidents and mishaps.

    They urged everyone to celebrate occasions safely, cultivating awareness and ensuring public safety.
