    The UAE’s Ministry of Interior confirmed it has stepped up security and traffic readiness across the country, working closely with relevant authorities and police headquarters, as Eid Al Fitr begins.

    The UAE is celebrating Eid Al Fitr on Friday, March 20, after authorities confirmed that the crescent marking the start of Shawwal was not sighted on Thursday.

    The ministry said the measures are part of a broader plan focused on strengthening safety, easing traffic movement, and allowing people to enjoy the festive atmosphere in a secure and stable setting.

    It also stressed its commitment to maintaining the joyful spirit of Eid while increasing security and traffic presence in busy areas such as mosques, Eid prayer grounds, markets, and shopping malls.

    At the same time, teams remain on continuous standby to respond quickly to any emergency situations.
