Formula One has confirmed that the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will take place as scheduled in December, with the race set to bring the 2026 season to a close at Yas Marina Circuit.

Formula One President and CEO Stefano Domenicali reaffirmed that the calendar remained unchanged and said preparations were on track for the December 3-6 event.

“The calendar is confirmed. There are still a few tickets to be sold in Abu Dhabi… and we stay focused on delivering the calendar we promised at the beginning of the year,” Domenicali said. “…Everything is progressing very, very well.”

The confirmation ends weeks of uncertainty over the Abu Dhabi season finale amid the regional conflict. On July 29, Domenicali said the “races in Qatar and Abu Dhabi are confirmed”, but that Formula One was monitoring “how the situation will develop”, with the possibility of ending the season in Europe if the two Gulf races could not go ahead.

The confirmation means fans can proceed with travel and accommodation plans for the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which will once again serve as the season finale. Abu Dhabi’s race week experience includes action on the iconic Yas Marina Circuit, a lineup of concerts at Etihad Live and a range of entertainment and hospitality events across Yas Island.

Organisers said ticket availability for the event was now limited, with “many returning Abu Dhabi Grand Prix attendees and new fans already securing their places for this year’s season finale”.

Fans have been encouraged to visit abudhabigp.com to explore the remaining ticket options, with further announcements on After-Race Concert artists and new race experiences expected ahead of the event.

Saood Abdulaziz Al Hosani, Undersecretary of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, said the race continued to generate opportunities for the emirate’s tourism, hospitality and events sectors.

“Hosting Formula 1 since 2009 has been a testament to our ambition to bring the world together through exceptional experiences and major international events,” he said.

“We look forward to welcoming international F1 fans once again for the conclusion of a thrilling season.”

Saif Rashid Al Noaimi, CEO of Ethara, said preparations were progressing across all aspects of the event.

“As promoter of the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, our focus is firmly on delivering another outstanding season finale this December,” he said.

“…We are working closely with Formula 1 and our partners across Abu Dhabi to deliver an exceptional experience for fans, teams, drivers, officials and partners.”
