Dubai-to-Sharjah direction to be affected for four hours daily from September 11 to 18

Sharjah: A section of Emirates Road in Sharjah will be partially closed for a week as infrastructure works continue on the Etihad Rail project, the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has announced.

The partial closure will affect traffic travelling on Emirates Road from Dubai towards Sharjah.

The closure begins on Friday, September 11, and will continue until Friday, September 18, 2026.

According to the authority, the partial closure will be in place for four hours each day, from 1am to 5am, allowing work to be carried out while limiting the impact on daytime traffic.

SRTA urged motorists to drive cautiously, follow traffic signs and instructions around the work zone, and plan their journeys in advance during the closure hours.

The authority apologised for any inconvenience caused by the works and thanked road users for their understanding.
