The nature of public work is that it invites criticism and you must endure it, Sheikh Mohammed said.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has stressed that thinking differently and building what people are not familiar with naturally invites criticism from those who lack foresight. He urged everyone to move forward in the right direction without being preoccupied with what is being said by others.
In a post on social media platform X, he said: “Life has taught me that thinking differently, or building something people aren’t accustomed to or don’t understand in their time, brings criticism from those with narrow-minded views and those lacking the foresight to see the future.”
Seeking complete approval of everyone means refraining from action in the first place, he said.
He added: “The nature of public work is that it invites criticism.. and you must endure it, do what is right.. let them talk, but if you seek the complete approval of people, then say nothing.. do nothing.. and be nothing.”
