Temperatures are in the mid-40s across the UAE, with calm seas, but humidity rising tonight brings a high chance of mist along the coast by Friday morning

Dubai: Expect a hot day today, with temperatures in the mid-40s, and rising humidity overnight along coastal areas of the UAE.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasts fair to partly cloudy weather today, with an increase in humidity overnight and on Friday morning over some coastal areas, like Dubai and Abu Dhabi. This means there is a high chance of fog or mist formation, so be cautious if you’re out and about early tomorrow, or driving in low-visibility conditions.

    Hot weather

Temperatures have risen to the mid-40s across the UAE today.

According to the NCM, coastal and island regions will experience highs between 39°C and 44°C, while internal regions will be warmer, at 43°C to 47°C.

Five emirates – Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman and Umm Al Quwain – will reach 43°C today, while Ras Al Khaimah will see a high of 45°C. Fujairah will remain relatively cooler at 37°C.

    Calm sea conditions

The NCM forecasts light to moderate winds, freshening at times, and reaching speeds of up to 35km/h in coastal and internal regions.

With the light breeze, you can also look forward to calm sea conditions, both in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, today. The NCM expects slight sea conditions, with gentle waves reaching heights of two feet on-shore and up to three feet off-shore.

Here is the complete breakdown of minimum and maximum temperatures across the Emirates today:

Maximum Temp (°C) Minimum Temp (°C)

    Dubai 43°C 32°C

    Abu Dhabi 43°C 32°C

    Al Ain 43°C 32°C

    Sharjah 43°C 30°C

    Ajman 43°C 32°C

    Ras Al Khaimah 45°C 30°C
