The NCM forecasts humidity of up to 90% overnight and into Friday morning, with daytime temperatures holding steady in the low-40s across the Emirates

Dubai: Daytime temperatures are holding steady in the low-40s today, and if you’re venturing out late tonight or early tomorrow morning, be careful, as you may encounter fog that affects visibility.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasts fair to partly cloudy weather today, with a chance of some convective cloud formation eastward and southward by afternoon, associated with rainfall.

    Mist and fog expected

However, relative humidity (RH) is expected to increase by night and Friday morning, and range from 70% to 90% in coastal and internal areas. This means there is a high probability of fog or mist formation over these regions, especially westward, impacting cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

The NCM advises motorists to drive cautiously as horizonal visibility may reduce sharply in such conditions.

    High temperatures

Meanwhile, temperatures are in the low-40s today.

Sharjah will reach 44°C, while Dubai and Umm Al Quwain will see 43°C temperatures. Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah will peak at 42°C, and Ajman will experience 41°C weather. Fujairah will be relatively cooler, at 35°C.

Coastal and island regions are set to experience highs between 37°C and 42°C, while internal regions will be warmer, at 41°C to 46°C.

    Moderate sea conditions

Light to moderate northwesterly to southeasterly winds, freshening at times, are expected to cause blowing dust, according to the NCM.

Both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman will experience slight to moderate sea conditions today. The NCM forecasts waves reaching heights of two feet on-shore and up to four feet off-shore.

Here is the complete breakdown of minimum and maximum temperatures across the Emirates today:

Maximum Temp (°C) Minimum Temp (°C)

    Dubai 43°C 34°C

    Abu Dhabi 42°C 31°C

    Al Ain 46°C 32°C

    Sharjah 44°C 31°C

    Ajman 41°C 33°C

    Fujairah 35°C 31°C

    Ras Al Khaimah 42°C 30°C

    Umm Al Quwain 43°C 28°C

    Liwa 43°C 31°C
