UAE weather forecast: Temperatures dip as humidity rises, mist forecast this weekend

Dubai: After days of temperatures in the high-40s, the mercury is starting to dip this weekend, even as humidity builds overnight.

According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), the weather today will be fair to partly cloudy, with extended cloud cover northward and eastward. Due to convective cloud formation, you can expect to see light rainfall if you’re based in regions like Fujairah.

Temperatures start to dip as humidity rises

The NCM forecasts a slight decrease in temperatures over coastal areas starting today, with an increase in humidity by night time. Humidity levels are rising up to 90% in coastal and mountainous regions, and up to 85% in internal areas.

This means there is a high chance of mist formation overnight and into the early morning hours, this weekend. Drive carefully if you’re planning to head out early, as foggy conditions may reduce horizontal visibility.

Today, the NCM forecasts coastal and island regions to experience highs between 40°C and 45°C, while internal regions will be warmer, at 44°C to 49°C.

Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah are peaking at 44°C, while Dubai will be 43°C, Sharjah 42°C and Ajman 40°C. Al Ain and Liwa will experience the highest temperatures in the country, at 47°C and 48°C respectively.

Calm seas this weekend

Heading to the beach this weekend? Sea conditions are expected to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, according to the NCM.

You can expect gentle waves, reaching heights of two feet on-shore and three feet off-shore, making it the perfect environment for evening beach activities.
