Dubai: Be careful when driving in the UAE today – visibility is dropping to zero at times, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), as rising humidity brings fog to cities like Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah.

The NCM forecasts fair to partly cloudy weather, in general today, with a probability of convective cloud formation over some northern and eastern by afternoon, which may be associated with rainfall.

    Humidity spike

The relative humidity (RH) is topping out at 90% in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, Ajman and Sharjah, as temperatures hold steady in the low-30s. The NCM expects humidity to build up by tonight and on Friday morning over most coastal areas, with a high chance of mist formation.

The authorities advise being alert and cautious when driving in such conditions, as horizontal visibility will be impacted.

Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah will reach a high of 35°C today, while Sharjah will peak at 34°C. Dubai, Ajman, and Umm Al Quwain will reach 33°C, while Fujairah will remain the coolest emirate at 32°C.

    Slight sea conditions

Sea conditions will be slight along both eastern and western coasts, according to the NCM. This means you can expect gentle waves, reaching up to two feet on-shore, and up to three feet off-shore along both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

Here is the complete breakdown of minimum and maximum temperatures across the Emirates today:

Maximum Temp (°C) Minimum Temp (°C)

    Dubai 33°C 24°C

    Abu Dhabi 35°C 25°C

    Al Ain 36°C 25°C

    Sharjah 34°C 25°C

    Ajman 33°C 25°C

    Fujairah 32°C 26°C

    Ras Al Khaimah 35°C 25°C

    Umm Al Quwain 33°C 25°C

    Liwa 35°C 25°C
