Dubai Police, represented by the General Department of Traffic and the Esaad Card Centre, announced the launch of an awareness competition through the Traffic Safety Platform. The initiative aims to educate the public about the leading causes of accidents and raise awareness of safe road behaviours, helping to strengthen shared responsibility among road users to protect lives and property.

The competition forms part of Dubai Police’s ongoing efforts to expand community participation in traffic awareness, encourage the public to improve their knowledge of traffic rules, and turn that knowledge into daily practices that help prevent accidents.

The competition will run for five weeks and features 10 questions on the leading causes of traffic accidents, including failing to leave a sufficient safe distance between vehicles, speeding, and unsafe roadside stopping. The topics are based on traffic studies. At the end of the competition, an electronic draw will be held to select five winners. Each winner will receive an Esaad card and enjoy the privileges and discounts it offers across 10 sectors.

Brigadier Salah Mohammad Al Marzouqi, Director of the Esaad Card Centre at the General Department of Logistics Support, affirmed that the centre’s participation reflects its commitment to community responsibility and supporting initiatives that enhance safety and quality of life. He explained that Esaad uses its partnerships and benefits to encourage participation in meaningful initiatives, strengthen collaboration with partners, and contribute to achieving shared goals in serving the community and promoting positive behaviour.

Colonel Talal Abdullah Al Mansouri, Director of the Traffic Education Department at the General Department of Traffic, said that preventing accidents begins with road users recognising dangerous behaviours and adhering to rules that protect everyone. He added that the competition gives participants an opportunity to test their knowledge and correct traffic misconceptions through an interactive format. This helps them better understand road safety messages, apply them while driving, and become active partners in improving road safety.

The public can participate by registering on the Traffic Safety Platform at https://amanroads.gov.ae/trsp/en. The platform provides awareness messages through videos and text content, offering tips and guidance to all segments of the community. It aims to enhance understanding of traffic safety measures, driving rules, compliance with traffic regulations, and pedestrian laws. Users can also view awareness campaigns and take part in competitions.

Those wishing to participate in the awareness competition can answer the 10 questions to qualify for the final electronic draw and have a chance to win an Esaad card.
