Dubai: Proceeds from the 121st public auction of distinctive vehicle number plates, held by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) on Saturday, reached AED65.721 million.
The number CC44 fetched the highest price at AED6.72 million, followed by BB18 at AED6.62 million and BB80 at AED5.9 million. BB117 was sold for AED1.016 million.
The auction results highlight the success of the RTA’s approach to public and electronic auctions, which is based on neutrality, transparency and equal opportunities for those seeking distinctive numbers with symbolic value.
At its 121st public auction, held at the Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City Hotel, the RTA offered 60 distinctive two-, three-, four- and five-digit vehicle number plates featuring the codes AA, BB, CC, H, U, V, W, X, Y and Z.
