Abu Dhabi: The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has predicted that maximum and minimum temperatures during November would decrease by 4 to 6 degrees compared to October, as a result of the sun apparently moving south and the country being gradually affected by the extension of the Siberian high-pressure system.
The NCM’s report stated that November is part of the second transitional period. This month is characterised by moderate temperatures during the day and low temperatures at night.
During this month, the country is affected by the gradual extension of the Siberian high pressure system towards the region, especially during the second half of the month, which leads to a continued decrease in temperatures. Temperatures tend to be cold at times, especially at night in mountainous areas and some inland areas.
The country is also affected by an extension of surface low-pressure systems extending from the Red Sea and from the east. If these are accompanied by low-pressure systems in the upper atmosphere from the east or from the west, the amount of clouds increases and cumulonimbus clouds form over some areas, especially the eastern regions of the country.
The NCM pointed out that the prevailing winds during this month are southeasterly in the morning, turning to westerly-northwesterly during the day, and the wind speed may increase on some days of this month, especially with cumulus clouds.
Relative humidity increases, especially in the early morning, as a result of moderate air masses passing over the waters of the Gulf towards the country, creating the opportunity for light and dense fog to form in scattered areas.
